“Fantastic trip. We had a short break at the Sulphur springs of Seltún, lots of snow here, obviously smelly but very interesting. Our hike was up Fagradalsfjall hill, the site of the 2021 eruption. Our guide Alain was an encyclopaedia of knowledge about the area, the history of Iceland, the past eruptions and the more recent. We were mix of abilities, Alain kept us all together as a group, there was no rushing, everyone was given plenty of time to catch their breath and take amazing photos. Don’t let the changeable weather put you off as the weather was horrendous at the start of our day, roads covered with snow…”

We were the first group down in the crater which was really great since a ton of people came later and it was super crowded then. And we got to experience the sunrise on the top of the crater, with some hot tea and lots of interesting facts about Ijen, the miners, blue fire and the acidic crater. We would gladly do the tour with Qim Qim and his great team again, it was one of the best experiences ever!!”
