“We had the best trip to Ijen with Qim Qim and his wonderful team. They are super friendly, always in a good mood and attentive to everyone‘s needs. We were the first group down in the crater which was really great since a ton of people came later and it was super crowded then. And we got to experience the sunrise on the top of the crater, with some hot tea and lots of interesting facts about Ijen, the miners, blue fire and the acidic crater. We would gladly do the tour with Qim Qim and his great team again, it was one of the best experiences ever!!”

“We were part of team Pokemon and our guide was Surai for Mt Ijen. Surai was the highlight of our trip - he was knowledgeable about the history of the sulfur miners and the region itself. The team brought Kopi on top which aloud us to enjoy the sunrise with a warm cup. We felt like a big group of friends. Mt Bromo was not even close quality wise to Mt Ijen - the driver did not speak english and we had no explanations whatsoever. The view was amazing but we were dropped 5km away from King Kong hill and obviously, we did not make it at all to see…”

“Vandaag/Vannacht een heel mooie trip naar Mt. IJen gehad. We kregen vooraf netjes een appje Hoelaat we opgehaald worden. Om 00:00 begon de rit naar basecamp, aankomst 01:30 en om 0200 vertrek omhoog. Onze gids Samuel heeft een fantastisch goede rondleiding gegeven. Samuel is zelf ook één van de zwaveldragers en kon ons hierdoor alles vertellen over zijn werk en Mt IJen. Samuel nam genoeg rekening met de fitheid van iedereen (groep van 7) en vraagt tussentijds of t goed gaat. De wandeling (helemaal rond is 10 KM) was 100 procent de moeite waard. Draag oude kleding & schoenen met goede grip. Ter plekke zijn poncho’s, zonnebrillen etc te kopen…”
