“I HIGHLY ADVISE NOT TO BOOK THIS TOUR. Then the time came for a “river” drive(not sure why is it called river but basically it is circular drive with puddles of very dirty water in the way). “Onze chauffeur en gids Jay was heel aardig en wist veel. Ook de gids ter plekke, die met ons met de Jeep naar de vulkaan ging, was erg aardig. “Merapi tour was great; we had a sneak peek of the lava coughing early in the morning. It was safe as it was occurring on the left side of the volcano from where we were. We went to the bunker and we went to see the ‘river of lava’ paved when the lava flowed in the last eruption in 2010 and 2021. We stopped by a museum, made in the memory of the eruption in 2010.
